A new TTD Trust Board may take charge of the affairs of the Tirumala Balaji temple in a day or two in place of the present Special Administrative Committee whose term has expired on Wednesday.
There was speculation that the chief minister Kirankumar reddy has decided to restore the TTD Trust Board in place of the committee which has been looking after the temple affairs for the last one year. The committee was appointed in August 2010 with senior IAS officer Mr J. Satyanarayana as its head after the term of the TTD Board led by liquor baron Adikesavulu Naidu ended.
There are also news reports that the CM may appoint Mr Allu Aravind, cine producer and brother in law of mega star Chiranjeevi or Congress MP Mr Rayapati Sambasiva Rao as the new chairman of the TTD Board. However, Aravind denied reports that he was in the race of the TTD top post.
Earlier reports said that Kirankumar Reddy may extend the term of the Administrative Committee by another year but he now seemed to have changed his mind under political pressure.
Congress leader and mega star Chiranjeevi has reportedly played a key role in changing the CM’s mind on the issue. Sources said that Chiru has been applying pressure on the CM to appoint Allu Aravind as the TTD Chief.
Further reports said that the mega star had used his influence with the Union Minister and in-charge of the congress affairs in AP Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad for the purpose of ensuring the appointment of Aravind as the TTD chief.
Kirankumar, however, is not favorably disposed towards Allu Aravind for various reasons, according to sources.
