TTD chairman Mr Kanumuri Bapiraju said today that the temple Trust Board has decided to modernize the Srivaari Pushkarini (Koneru or the sacred lake) on Tirumala with an expenditure of Rs.4 Cr.

Speaking to media persons on Tirumala, he said that the Board has approved the proposal and the modernization works would begin soon. Meanwhile, in view of the annual Brahmotsavamas of the Lord Balaji beginning September 29, the Pushkarini was cleaned fully and fresh water has been pumped into it.

The modernization of the Pushkarini is the first project that has been approved by the TTD Trust Board after its constitution in place of the Specified Authority.
