Lord Venkateshwara earns Rs 2,200 Crores

Lord Venkateswara ( Tirumala ) income to be more than Rs.2,200 Crores ( half a Billion USD) in 2013-2014.

The exact amount in rupees that Lord Venkateshwara is indebted to Kubera asking his daughter Padmavathi's hand in marriage is unknown but his income from the devotees has been crossing enormous figures. His income is so high that there is a 25% interest on investments, which is the income of the Tirupathi.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board presented its budget recently for this year and it shows that the board pays Rs 490 crores as interest to the government for the income which is nearly Rs 2,000 crores. The estimate for 2013 will be exaggerated the next year, the board projects with their interest reaching a whopping Rs 555.20 Cr.

Offerings from the people were recorded at a staggering Rs 859 Cr in 2012-2013 and this is to remain stable for the next year too. But the interest levied on the same may go higher. Tonsures as offerings to god and the sale of the hair offered will generate an income of Rs 200 crore in the year to come just as it was in 2012-2013.

Darshan, Special entrance and other such tickets will generate an income of Rs 181 cr, Rs 140cr for prasadams and Rs 22 Cr from sale of gold pendants will add to the total revenue. More income from the choultries of Rs 90 Cr, other rents of hotels and shops, toll gate receipts and other capital receipts together is estimated to be Rs 94 crore. Total income of TTD for the year is estimated at grand amount of Rs 2,160 crore.
