In a significant decision, the TTD Trust Board today resolved to improve the quality of the Laddu, the main prasadam of the Lord Balaji of the Tirumala Hills.
The Laddu would be made rich in quality and more palatable and tasty with the mixing of the dry fruits. For this, the Board has decided to buy 4 lakh kg of kissmiss to be mixed in the patented Prasadam.
As a first step, the TTD will buy one lakh kg of kissmiss and the rest will be acquired in further installments. The Board also decided to follow the guidelines of the Central Government in calling tenders for purchases of material.
The administration has also approved a grant of Rs.3.50 Cr to establish physio- therapy section in the BIRD hospital.
Arjitha Sevas cancelled
In view of the Brahmotsavams beginning tomorrow, the TTD Board has cancelled all Arjitha Sevas of Lord Venkateswara with immediate effect.
On the first day of the prestigious annual festivities, the Chief Minister will offer Pattuvastramulu to the lord on behalf of the government tomorrow.
TTD Chairman Mr Kanumuri Bapi Raju told journalists in Tirumala today that henceforth the administration will take special care of the pedestrian devotees who visit the temple by foot path. “The devotees who walk all the way are the VIPs of the temple and we will take steps to take care of them in a special manner,” he said.
Meanwhile, the railway authorities are running special trains to meet the traffic of devotees to Tirumala from all corners of the state.
