Nitish mindgames to tackle BJP

Janata Dal [United] chief and former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is moving closer to form alliance with Rashtriya Janata Dal [RJD] for the upcoming Assembly elections in a way to tackle the BJP wave.

Bihar Assembly polls are 15 months away and after stepping down from the CM post, Nitish is more concentrating in strengthening the party from the ground level. He has been meeting party cadre and taking suggestions from them and sketching various road maps to take on the BJP at any cost. In Rajya Sabha elections, Nitish and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav came to an understanding to support each other and both are trying to apply the same for the coming Assembly polls. JD[U] is planning to set up its party units where it never contested before as part of their alliance with BJP in previous elections.

In the 2010 elections, JD [U] got 22.58 percent of votes and with the help of BJP they formed government. But as BJP announced Narendra Modi's as its Prime Ministerial candidate, JD[U] walked out from the BJP's NDA. However, in the Bihar Lok Sabha elections in May, BJP won majority of the seats which rose concerns to the ruling party.

It is a massive task for Nitish kumar to handle BJP in the state and with the new national president of BJP, more troubles are in pipeline for the JD[U]. Meanwhile BJP is not bothered about any alliance and is considering to go alone for the Assembly polls.
