After Gujarat,is New Delhi the next target for Modi?

After Narendra Modi has won a landslide victory in Gujarat assembly elections, BJP is now indulging in serious discussions on whether he should be made the prime ministerial candidate for 2014 general elections or not. "Modi bhai has always been an important leader in the BJP...We are not a dynastic party which is led by a Yuvaraj. We function in a pure democratic fashion," BJP chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters while sarcastically commenting on Rahul Gandhi being the contender for the top most political post as well.

The spokesman further added  that Modi fought against all forms of vicious campaigns against himself at different levels in the state as well as internationally. "What is significant about this election is that in this country where there is so much of caste divide, a leader who has identified with the aspirations of an entire population, has emerged victorious," he said.

However, he refused to comment on BJP’s ally Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who has publically rejected the idea of Modi being the BJP’s candidate of choice for the post of Prime Minister.
