BS Yeddyurappa Takes Oath As The Chief Minister Of Karnataka:- Right after BJP won the legal battle in the Supreme Court to form the government in Karnataka, BS Yeddyurappa took the oath as Chief Minister of the state. The oath taking ceremony took place in Raj Bhavan in the presence of Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala in the presence of BJP leaders and supporters. After Supreme Court refused to stay his swearing-in, BS Yeddyurappa made no time waste and took his oath.
BS Yeddyurappa has been given 15 days time to prove his majority in the Assembly house. BJP has 104 MLAs and they need 8 more MLAs to prove their strength and reach the magical figure of 112. "The BJP’s irrational insistence that it will form a Govt. in Karnataka, even though it clearly doesn’t have the numbers, is to make a mockery of our Constitution. This morning, while the BJP celebrates its hollow victory, India will mourn the defeat of democracy" said Rahul Gandhi in a statement on the current situation in Karnataka.
