Rahul Gandhi amid speculations of cabinet reshuffle has been making a few “routine meetings” with important dignitaries of the nation recently. In the latest meeting, he met President Pranab Mukherjee on Thursday.

This meeting lasted for over half an hour at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan, according to a few sources at the President's official residence.

The meet comes only a day after his meeting with the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The Congress said that both the meetings were routine while it obviously wasn't so. The 42 year old met the President only a couple of days after the president of Congress and PM both visited his office in separate incidents.

This further strengthen the speculation that are rife about the cabinet reshuffle. It is also speculated that the helm of a few posts is being handed over to the promising youth of the party to regain the lost momentum after the coal block allocation scams.

Is it time for the prince of Congress to assume a “larger role” in the kingdom (may I dare say)?
