Rahul Gandhi Slams One Nation One Election Ideology:- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP for their idea of One Nation One Election. He called it an attack on the Union and the States rather than the Union of States.
A high-level committee headed by former President of India Ram Nath Kovind talks about the possibility of conducting the One Nation One Election. Rajya Sabha MP Mallikarjuna Kharge was deposed from the committee and instead of him President of Democratic Progressive Azad Ghulam Nabi Azad was included in the committee. The panel also has Union Minister Amit Shah, NK Singh, Subhash Kashyap, Harish Salve and Sanjay Kothari are also part of this committee.
On Saturday the union government asked the eight-member committee to examine the possibility of going for one election, that is to recommend elections for Lok Sabha simultaneously along with State, Municipalities and Panchayats. The committee is going through the constitution look for better possibilities and for the amendments for conducting the elections at once.
This process of election requires ratification by the states and the committee first should come out from the possible solutions and the scenarios. One Nation One Election will be the biggest move in India if the NDA implements it.
