Supreme Court's Stay Rahul Gandhi’s Conviction

Supreme Court's Stay Rahul Gandhi’s Conviction:- On August 4th, it’s a big day for congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The Supreme Court stayed Rahul Gandhi’s conviction order in the defamation case. SC suspended the conviction of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification as a sitting Lok Sabha member and he will now return to the Lok Sabha for the remaining monsoon session.

Rahul Gandhi will return to parliament on Monday and a formal notice will be sent to the Lok Sabha Secretariat for his reinstatement. The Lok Sabha secretariat said that they will consider the re-entry of Rahul Gandhi only after receiving the order from Supreme Court. They will undergo a formal re-examination of the order of SC before taking the final decision on Gandhi’s re-entry.

As a big relief, Rahul Gandhi is now free to contest in elections and his Wayand seat will remain vacant. He was suspended from Lok Sabha after his statements against Modi's surname. He was convicted by Surat local court. His MP seat was cancelled on March 23 rd 2023.

Rahul Gandhi was suspended from Lok Sabha in less than 24hours after Surat court convicted him. He later joined his sister Priyanka Gandhi, roamed throughout and formed I.N.D.I.A against the NDA government, which turned out to be a big trouble for NDA now.
