The suspect who was involved in the vandalism at Azad Maidan as he destroyed the Amar Jawan Jyoti memorial at the protests had been arrested according to the police on Tuesday.

Abdul Quadir, the identified suspect was also taken into custody from Jogeshwari from North Mumbai.

He had striking similarity to the man caught on camera in the act while destroying the memorial in honor of soldiers.

In the August 11 violence that ensued in the protests against the violence in Assam and Myanmar which turned violent. The attacks had killed two people as 50 others including police, women constables etc were injured. Media and police property including vans, cameras etc were vandalized.

52 people was arrested earlier in relation to the violence while three of them were released on Monday as there was no evidence to be pinned against them.
