A chain-snatcher after his heist at Pimple Nilakh on the evening of Tuesday thought he could easily get away on the bike with his accomplice but he couldn't have been more wrong. A mother with the help of the son helped the police at Sangvi to nab one of the suspect while the other is still on the run.
In the evening at 5: 30 pm, near Rakshak Chowk in the Kalyan district of Pune, two people on their motorbikes had raced towards Shalini Panchal, the complainant, and snatched her gold chain. They flet without any delay.
Shalini who knew that her son was on the same way that the thieves were fleeing immediately called him and descibed them to him. Taking notice of two men on the bike matching the description, Jitesh on his scooter had hit the bike with his scooter, forcing them on to the ground.
Jitesh then immediately removed the keys from the motorbike turning the ignition off. Both the suspects fled as one took to his feet and another had tried to escape from the river nearby.
Jitesh had also called his friends for to come to his rescue and they chased after the man who started swimming in the river.
He later gave up with the fear of drowning but the man who took to his feet had managed to escape successfully. The gold chain, worth Rs 1.25 lakh, is yet to be traced. A search operation for the same would be launched.
