After a heavy meal, we generally like to have salad or ice cream and oh yes, we love to have it with our family and friends. However a recent study reported that Ice Cream or chocolate won't boost our mood and in fact we may simply feel better after some time regardless of what food we eat, researchers say.
The researchers examined few participants and they were asked to pick foods that they thought would make them feel better if they were in a bad mood. They were also asked to pick foods that they liked but thought could not uplift their mood.
Later all the participants were showed a 20-minute video intended to extract the feelings of sadness, anger and fear. As anticipated, participants were in a bad mood immediately after watching the video. But again three minutes later, their mood improved.
The researchers were shocked with the results and came to a conclusion that comfort food can't speed up that healing process.
