Indoor pollution fatal for Indian kidsNovember 08, 2014 14:37
A new study by an Indian American revealed that Indian kids are suffering more from indoor pollution rather than the outdoor. According to this study, children who are exposed to more indoor pollution have increased levels of Asthma and allergic rhinitis [Hay fever]. This study was presented at the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology [ACAAI] Annual Scientific Meeting in Atlanta.
The study was conducted on 70 households where no kid had symptoms of Asthma or any allergic rhinits. The researchers measured the levels of air pollutants i.e, smoking, kerosene and biomass fuel and found that the kids having symptoms of Asthma have twice indoor pollution in their households.
According to World Health Organisation [WHO] about 235 million people are suffering from Asthma presently.
