India has offered USD 10 million aide to the global trust fund set by United Nations to address the threats of Ebola outbreak. An agreement was signed between Indian ambassador to United Nations, Ashoke Kumar Mukherji and executive coordinator at the Ebola Response Multi Partner Trust Fund [MPTF] office of UN Development Programme.

India is also the first country to grant funds to MPTF and is the third biggest contributed too. Additionally India pledged USD 2 million for buying of the protective gear to tackle the disease. Apart from this financial support, India also contributed to the African countries which are majorly affected by Ebola.  

As per December 8, World Health Organisation has reported that Ebola has stuck 17,800 people and about 6,331 people died of the disease.
