Home Minister Rajnath Singh has proposed AIADMK MP Thambidurai's name for the post of Deputy Speaker in Lok Sabha this morning which gave new meaning to BJP and AIADMK friendship. Thambidurai is likely to be elected as unopposed member as all the parties have extended their support.

Earlier today, Thambidurai met Parliament Affairs minister Venkaiah Naidu in his chamber and confirmed his berth for the deputy CM post. TDP, Shiv Sena, TRS, YSR Congress, TMC and SP also supported Thambidurai's nomination.
