AP Governor Asks To Appoint Ramesh Kumar As SEC:- The State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar was sacked by the government of Andhra Pradesh after he decided to push the local body polls. He took the issue to the High Court which asked the government to reappoint Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as the State Election Commissioner. With the government not responding, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar approached the High Court again and the court asked him to approach the Governor. Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar met the Governor recently to take a call on this.
Andhra Pradesh Governor Vishwabhushan asked the government of Andhra Pradesh to reappoint Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar as the Election Commissioner of the state. He asked the government to follow the order issued by the High Court of Andhra Pradesh. The government of Andhra Pradesh is yet to respond about the order. The AP Government approached the Supreme Court but the top court asked the government to follow the order issued by the High Court in Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar issue. The AP Government filed a petition in Supreme Court recently and the hearing would take place on July 24th. AP Government would move accordingly only after the Supreme Court's decision.
