Nirbhaya Convicts to be Hanged on March 20th:- The four convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape case are announced to be hanged some days ago but the punishment got delayed after they filed mercy pleas individually. The Delhi Court today announced that the convicts will be hanged at 5.30 AM on March 20th. The court issued a fresh order regarding the same. The fourth convict in the case Pawan Kumar Gupta filed a mercy petition and President Ram Nath Kovind rejected the petition filed by Pawan Kumar Gupta.

The Tihar jail authorities filed a petition yesterday for the fresh death warrant and the court issued it today. All the four convicts Vinay Sharma, Akshay Thakur, Mukesh Singh and Pawan Kumar Gupta will be hanged on March 20th. Nirbhaya's parents expressed that this would be the final date and it would not be extended. The punishment was planned to take place on January 22nd and it was pushed to February 1st. Then the date was announced as March 3rd and now the final date is said to be March 20th. Nirbhaya was gang-raped on December 16th, 2012 in a moving bus by six youngsters and she passed away on December 29th.
