Nirbhaya Case: SC Rejects Pawan Gupta's Plea:- The Nirbhaya convicts are trying hard to get the punishment delayed. The Supreme Court today dismissed the curative plea of Pawan Kumar Gupta who happens to be one of the four convicts in the 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case. Pawan Kumar Gupta is the last one to file a curative petition in the court. All the other convicts got their legal remedies exhausted and Pawan Kumar Gupta can now file a mercy petition before Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.

The court said that there is no case made without the parameters that are indicated in the decision that is made by the court. The curative petition happens to be the last resort available for the convict for grievances. Since Pawan Kumar Gupta is yet to file his mercy petition, the punishment that is scheduled to take place on March 3rd may be delayed now. All the convicts will be hanged simultaneously and not separately. The Additional Sessions Judge of Patiala House court already issued a death warrant on January 7th 2020.
