Automatic Toll Management On Hyderabad ORR:- Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is all set to implement Automatic Toll Management System (TMS) on Hyderabad Outer Ring Road and the trial run concludes today. The trial run has been launched on July 21st and it has been planned to be wrapped up by July 25th. However it has been extended till July 30th. To ensure the transparency in the fund collection and addressing the irregularities, TMS is being introduced on the Outer Ring Road.

The vehicle owners will be given chip-equipped smart card at the entry station and the card should be swiped during the exit station. The vehicle owner will be given a receipt about the distance traveled and the toll charges that has to be paid. The chip-equipped card has to be returned at the exit station. All the software testings have been successful and no glitches have been located in the trail run. Over one lakh vehicles travel on the ORR on regular basis and HMDA allotted the collection of toll charges to a private agency.
