Parliament Monsoon Session Day 1: Speaker Accepts TDP's No-confidence Motion:- In a first-ever No-Confidence Motion to Narendra Modi-led Union Government, Telugu Desam Party's No-Confidence Motion was acknowledged by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday, the first day of the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

Sumitra admitted the No-Confidence Motion affected by the TDP and else opposition parties. Speaker has stated that she would declare the date of discussion on the No-Confidence Motion in the span of 10 days.

While the minimum assist required for No-Confidence Motion is 50 MPs, the No-Trust Motion moved by the TDP has got assist from 145 members raising several eyebrows. With no other alternative, Speaker has to admit the motion as per the regulations and norms of the house.

Although Congress party excessively served the No-Confidence Motion today, Speaker has initially admitted TDP's motion which has not gone down well with the Congress leaders who raised the objection.

While Speaker has read out the No-Trust Motion of the TDP in the house, Congress leaders questioned Speaker for not reading out their No-Trust Motion.

Reacting to Congress MPs, Speaker said that she has recognized the No-Confidence Motion moved by the TDP which was served first.

She said the debate would happen on the TDP's No-Confidence Motion which has been served against the Centre for not keeping its bifurcation commitments to Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier in the last session of Parliament, the Speaker could not acknowledge the motion reasoning the din from the members of TRS and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remained anticipant of a peaceful Session and declared that his regime was ready for debate on any issue raised by political parties. "Any party wants to raise any issue, this government is ready for a discussion," he told reporters just before the beginning of the session. The prime minister expressed the hope that Parliament's functioning will be an inspiration for state assemblies in the country.

According to PRS Legislative Research, a total of 68 Bills are unfinished in Parliament. Of these, 25 Bills are listed for consideration and passage, and three for back down during the session. 18 new Bills are listed for debut, consideration, and passage. Concerns remain if the impasse seen in the Budget session will carry over to this session. Parliament's budget session was the least productive budget session in 18 years.
