Pak PM’s Elder Son Appears Again Before Panamagate Probe Team

Pak PM’s Elder Son Appears Again Before Panamagate Probe Team:- In connection with the Panama Papers investigation into his family’s assets, it is for the sixth time that Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s elder son Hussain Nawaz on Tuesday appeared before a Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

On Monday, his younger brother Hassan Nawaz faced the JIT, while on Wednesday, his sister Maryam Nawaz will appear before the team for the first time. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, following Hassan’s appearance, also faced the JIT on Monday in connection with the probe, which has entered its final week.

The minister, who is also the father-in-law of Nawaz Sharif’s younger daughter, is the eighth member of the extended Sharif family to be summoned for questioning. The Pakistani Prime Minister appeared before the JIT on June 15. He became the first sitting Pakistani Prime Minister to appear before a probe team. On July 10, the six-member JIT is due to submit its report to the apex court.

The Supreme Court, in its April 20 judgment, to investigate allegations of money laundering, had constituted the JIT and authorized it to summon the PM, his sons and any other individuals. It is alleged that through money laundering, the Sharif family have purchased four apartments in London’s Park Lane area.
