Lord Hanuman gets a legal notice in Madhya Pradesh

In India, nothing and no one is above law, even the Gods are not an exception. To make it literally true, Government officials of Madhya Pradesh issued a legal notice to Lord Hanuman.

Getting into the details, Municipal authorities of Bhind District, Madhya Pradesh found Lord Hanuman a road blockage with his temple. To widen the road, they issued the eviction notice to the temple’s main deity- Lord Hanuman instead of the temple’s priest or the trust.

The temple is situated in the district's Bajariya locality and a portion of it is deemed to be encroaching upon the public thoroughfare.

The notice to Lord Hanuman reads: "You have illegally encroached the road which causes public inconvenience, leading to possibility of accident. Despite earlier directive to remove the encroachment, you have not complied. You were given the Gwalior High Court's order. But you didn't comply. A contempt of court case has been initiated against you."

After experiencing wide public attention and adverse comments, the authorities came to know their mistake and gave an explanation to the media that it was overlooked.

The legal notice to Lord Hanuman sparked a flurry of funny tweets and began trending on Twitter in India.
