Narendra Modi Inaugurates Asia's Biggest Solar Plant:- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated Asia's largest solar power project in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh which is named as Rewa Mega Solar Power Project. This will help the entire world to secure a clean environment. Narendra Modi dedicated this 750-megawatt ultra solar plant to the world and it will reduce the emission of 15 lakh tonne of carbon dioxide every year. Narendra Modi spoke to the country through a video conference saying that solar energy is the need for the 21st century. Narendra Modi said that solar energy is pure, sure and secure.
"Rewa has scripted a history. It is identified with the name of Narmada and a white tiger. This is the largest solar power plant project. I congratulate the people of Madhya Pradesh and wishing them the best. Rewa solar power plant will make up a big center of energy in this decade" said Narendra Modi. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Governor Anandiben Patel, ministers RK Singh (Union minister of new and renewable energy), Dharmendra Pradhan (Union Minister for Oil) were present for the virtual inauguration.

The Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) is a joint venture of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) owned by the state and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (MPUVNL). The plat has three solar generating units of 250MW each of which are located on a 500-hectare plot. The entire park is spread across 1500 hectares.
