Telangana To Scale Up Coronavirus Tests In The State:- Telangana government has been badly criticized for conducting less number of COVID-19 tests when all the neighboring states are busy conducting rapid tests. The High Court of Telangana slammed the government for the tests and asked them to increase the number. The Telangana government now decided to scale up the coronavirus tests to 25,000 samples per day very soon. The PCR tests at the government laboratories, rapid tests at the primary healthcare facilities and the private labs are able to conduct 15,000 tests per day. The government is in plans to increase the number to 20,000 and then to 25,000. Director of Public Health and Family Welfare Dr G Srinivas Rao informed the news.

Srinivas Rao even urged the people to be extra cautious as there are clear indications of the presence of SARS-CoV-2 virus among the community in Telangana. He urged the people to use masks and maintain physical distancing when they are in public. The infections and the number of cases are increased across the villages of Telangana which was restricted to the limits of GHMC. The monsoons brought enough rains which is spreading the virus at a fast pace. With the state open, people are out and this added more number to the list. Dr K Ramesh Reddy, Director of Medical Education urged the people without symptoms not to rush for coronavirus tests as there are several people who are suffering.
