Telangana Under Strict Lockdown Till May 7th:- The number of positive coronavirus cases saw a huge rise in Telangana from the past one week. Hyderabad registered the maximum number of cases from the state. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) had a crucial cabinet meeting last evening after which he announced that the lockdown would be extended till May 7th in the state. He said that the state would be in strict lockdown and all the relaxations that are announced by the Centre would not be implemented in the state. KCR clarified that the cabinet will meet once again on May 5th to take further calls about the lockdown extension or cancellation in Telangana. KCR also said that the domestic flight services in Telangana would not start before May 7th in Telangana.

Also, the food delivery services like Zomato and Swiggy are banned in the state. KCR reminded about the Epidemic Disaster Management Act in which state government has the right to take a call on par with the Centre as per the situation. KCR said that he spoke to several people and 95% of them wished to continue the lockdown to bring things back to control. KCR also announced that the ration of 12kgs rice along with Rs 1500 financial assistance for all the white ration cardholders of 87.5 lakh people across Telangana will continue for the month of May. The migrant families will be given 5 kg or rice along with Rs 1500 financial assistance. Three more people passed away in Telangana yesterday and the death toll reached 21. 49 new cases are registered on Sunday and the total number of cases in the state reached 858.
