VK Sasikala Sacked From Post Of AIADMK General Secretary:- VK Sasikala, the long-time friend and confidante of Jayalalithaa, the former CM of Tamilnadu, has got her big shock for the day. Sasikala has been sacked as the interim general secretary of the AIADMK at the much-awaited general council meeting scheduled in Chennai on Tuesday.

The appointment of her nephew TTV Dinakaran as Deputy General Secretary also stands cancelled, said a party leader.

“Temporary General Secy post stands forfeited. Sasikala is expelled,” said Tamil Nadu Revenue Minister RB Udaykumar.

The meeting was scheduled to invalidate decisions taken in violation of party by-laws, and a resolution was passed to declare all those decisions made by TTV Dinakaran as “null and void”. Currently, the EPS-OPS has 112 MLAS, lacking the number from 118 majority- while TTV Dhinakaran has proven he has 22 MLAs.

According to the resolution been passed by the AIADMK General Council, the office bearers appointed by Jayalalithaa will continue in office. VK Sasikala and TTV Dinakaran were appointed after Jayalalithaa’s death as general secretary and deputy general secretary. The resolution effectively seeks to strike down VK Sasikala’s appointment as General Secretary. As per the resolution, the post of the General Secretary shall always remain with J Jayalalithaa.

“The General Secretary post is always to be held by Amma and it shall remain forever. And Amma only has all the credibility to be there. There is no one else for the post and the by-law is ratified to that effect,” the resolution read.

The resolution further said that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palanisamy and his deputy O Panneerselvam shall retrieve the party and its symbol. Moreover, O Panneerselvam will be the chief co-ordinator of the party and Edappadi Palaniswami will be assistant chief co-ordinator. All powers of General Secretary is given to the chief co-ordinator and assistant chief co-ordinator.

“The main agenda of the meeting is to remove Sasikala from the post of interim general secretary and from the party since it was one of the major preconditions set by O. Panneerselvam for merging his faction with EPS camp,” a senior leader of the party informed.

Addressing a press conference in Madurai after the resolutions passed by the General Council, TTV Dinakaran, VK Sasikala’s nephew and Deputy General Secretary said, “They have betrayed the AIADMK cadre and people of Tamil Nadu. I will send this government packing...Nobody voted for Edappadi Palaniswami. Once again we will bring Amma's rule in Tamil Nadu. The fight will be between us and the DMK. I can’t see Edapaddi Palaniswami sitting on CM’s chair. They just want to sit on the chair and enjoy the power... This is something told by the party...This is just a small huddle... People say that I am the trusted Leituant of Amma not EPS or OPS.”

“If EPS doesn't have numbers why doesn't he steps down and the legislature elect the new chief minister. Any decision taken the General Council has to be vetted by the Court. They don't have numbers. We have already given letters to the Governor from 21 MLAS expressing no confidence on EPS. Everybody knows that this govt doesn't have the support of 117 MLAS. The governor has the responsibility to ask the CM to prove majority.”

Dinakaran has even thrown an open challenge to EPS and OPS, asking them to face elections. He further said, “We need to save the party... Governor has asked us to wait for a couple of days... All 21 MLAs are going to vote against EPS.”

Dinakaran demanded resignation of Edappadi Palaniswami and said that the government has lost the trust the people of Tamil Nadu so the chief minister and his council of minister needs to resign.
