Senior BJP leader and Union minister for urban development M. Venkaiah Naidu says that he or his family members, will no more contest in any future elections, but will serve the nation.
Speaking about the Special Status issue, Venkaiah Naidu said that, the Special Category Status (SCS) issue for Andhra Pradesh, is under the Niti Aayog’s consideration. He assured that, if special status seems impossible, a better proposal than SCS, would be given to the state.
The Special status issue is still doing the rounds and the Centre has not yet stopped playing hide and seek with AP, regarding the issue. Now, once again, Venkaiah Naidu uttered about it, saying, the Central government is not only for one state, but should concern about 31 states and 6 Union Territories.
Venkaiah Naidu assured the Centre’s complete support for building the new capital Amaravati. He assured to sanction the ring road project there, and also Kanakadurga flyover in Vijayawada.
Targeting Rahul Gandhi, Venkaiah Naidu said that, the Congress leader was making baseless statements, regarding the special status issue and trying to corner the Centre. He should realize that, the then Congress government had not included Special status issue in the bill.
Venkaiah Naidu on intolerance
Venkaiah Naidu even spoke about the ongoing issue, intolerance, saying that, it was the culture of the Congress, as the party did not allow debate in Parliament, for instance, during the passing of the AP Bifurcation Bill.
Naidu further said that, the Central government is giving top priority to agriculture and development of the residuary AP state. It is BJP who sanctioned the funds for Polavaram, even it has been started in the year 1980, when Congress government was in power.
Finally, the senior leader Venkaiah Naidu said that, he or his family members would no more be contesting in any future elections, but will continue to serve the nation, the state and the people.
