Final rites of Balasaheb Thackeray were conducted today at Shivaji Park in the midst of scores of people. As procession moved through the streets of Mumbai to reach Shivaji Park, lakhs of people followed him with slogans 'amar rahe amar rahe Balasaheb amar rahega.' As Balasaheb's mortal remains were placed on the funeral pyre, police shot rounds of fire itno the air as a mark of state honours. His funeral pyre was lit by Uddhav Thackeray.

As mortal remains burn in flames, crores of people broke into tears. Looking at today's royal send-off to this Maratha mahaveer (super hero), one can certainly say that the legend pf Balasaheb Thaackeray would be remembered as long as Maharashtra exists.
