Balasaheb Thackeray's funeral procession has reached Shivaji Park at 16:56 pm. Already lakhs of people entered Shivaji Park in Mumbai. All of them were waiting for the body of Balasaheb to enter the park so that they can have a final glimpse of the leader, who is no more. VVIPs too reached Shivaji Park. Some of them include BJP supremo Nitin Gadkari, Nana Patekar, Raj Thackeray and others. On the way to Shivaji Park, the procession reportedly had a halt at Shivsena headquarters.
While already lakhs of people entered Shivaji Park, scores of them entered along with the body in a shortwhile from now. The final rites of Bal Thackeray are scheduled to take place at 6 pm. Therefore, it would be only for a short while wherein the body would be kept at Shivaji Park for a last glimpse of Thackeray. BJP senior leader LK Advani, Nitin Gadkari, Sharad Pawar, noted film maker Madhur Bhandarkar and others paid last respects to Thackeray.
Bor in in 1926, Raj Thackeray created waves in the Indian political system with bold statements, which were sometimes controversial. He had been viewed as a person sent by God by lakhs of Maharashtrians. He was 86 when he passed away. He is survived by two sons, Uddhav and Uttam.
