The Andhra Pradesh High Court has made modification to the verdict it gave on accounts of Jagati Publications, Indira Television and Janani Infra, which are run by the prime accused in illegal assets case, Jaganmohan Reddy. The court, which earlier, ordered CBI to defreeze the accounts keeping in view the future of the employees, has now asked Sakshi media and Janani Infra to get bank guarantee on the 50 per cent of the total amount in current account. It has also asked the group to give surety of immovable properties worth Rs. 5 crore.
It may be noted that as a part of investigation, CBI has freezed the accounts of Sakshi media. The vernacular journalists of the group staged demonstrations and reportedly made a fuss over the same. The group approached High Court then and the court defreezed the accounts.
