Dubai Prasad bail petition dismissed

The special CBI court today dismissed the bail petition of Mr Koneru Prasad, accused in the APIIC-Emaar land scam.

Special judge Naga Maruthi Sarma agreed with the arguments of CBI that Koneru Prasad, also known as Dubai Prasad, may tamper with evidences in the case if he was released on bail.

CBI told the court that Prasad was involved in a scandal to the tune of Rs.130 Cr which was diverted to the accounts of his family members and he needed to be questioned further in the case.

The CBI also questioned today several persons who purchased plots in the Emaar Estates at its offices. The agency today recorded the statement of Srinath reddy, owner of the Jubilee Hills Software Company on his purchasing two villas in the Emaar Estates.

On the other hand, senior officials of the irrigation department also attended the CBI office at Koti and gave their explanations on allotment of water to the Penna Cement factory in the Ranga reddy district. (JUBS)
