Dubai Prasad surrenders, remand extended till Dec 2

The special CBI court at Nampally in Hyderabad today extended till Dec 2 the judicial remand of Mr Koneru Prasad, one of the accused in the APIIC-Emaar land scam.

Earlier, Mr Prasad, also known as Dubai Prasad, surrendered before the court with the expiry of his temporary bail period. With the remand being extended, he was shifted to the Chanchalguda jail immediately.

CBI Judge Mr Nagamaruthi Sarma deferred his decision till tomorrow on the application of Koneru seeking A category prisoner status.

Mr Prasad has been out on a 5-day temporary bail to visit Sabarimala and have the darshan of Lord Ayyappa. As the bail period ended today, he surrendered before the court today.

The CBI Judge Mr Nagamaruthi Sarma granted him temporary bail to visit Sabarimala based on his request to allow him to visit the pilgrim centre as he was in Ayyappa Deeksha. He was allowed to visit with some escorts. He also surrendered his passport to the court before making the visit. (JUB)

These officers are now demanding that the GOs must be issued henceforth with a reference to the note file, the date, file number and name of the minister concerned.

The IAS officers accepted a resolution in their recent meeting demanding the government to change the business rules as demanded by them. They will now submit the resolution to the Chief Secretary Mr Pankaj Dwivedi.

Unless the proposal is accepted in a cabinet meeting, the business rules can’t be changed. We have to wait and see the result. (JUB)
