With the arrest of Jagan Mohan Reddy’s kin Nareddy Sunil Reddy on Tuesday in the Emaar scam, the CBI’s radar once again turned on YSR and Jagan.He is the second person to be arrested in the Emaar properties case. He was booked under sections 120-B r/w 420, 409, 420, 477A of Indian Penal Code, and sections 13 (2) r/w 13 (1)( c ) (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act 1988.
Stylish Homes manager Tummala Ranga Rao , popularly known as Stylish Ranga Rao, is understood to have deposed against Sunil Reddy in the scam, which led to his arrest. Ranga Rao had applied for anticipatory bail on Tuesday.

A major share of the money made by Koneru Prasad and Ranga Rao by selling plots in Emaar Boulder Hills was allegedly given to the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s camp and it was Sunil who was said to have transported the money. ‘’On the instructions of some people, Sunil Reddy collected money from one party and carried it to the other,’’.
“Sunil Reddy would basically collect corrupt money during YSR’s regime. He is yet to reveal where the `80 crore he received in the Emaar scam went. We will have to probe if the money went into firms owned by Jagan. We are also probing his role in Jagan’s assets case,” said a CBI source. In the assets case, the CBI has already informed the court that Vijay Sai Reddy had conspired with Jagan to get quid pro quo investments for favours shown by YSR to several companies.
Sunil Reddy’s arrest came as a shocker for the Jagan camp as Sunil, who is also a distant relative of Jagan, is reportedly in the know of all deals surrounding Kadapa MP and his group of companies.
WHO IS SUNIL REDDY?
Sunil Reddy, is a relative of Jaganmohan Reddy’s wife Bharathi and owns an interior decoration store in Jubilee Hills, became close to Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy after the sudden demise of former chief minister late Y S Rajasekahara Reddy.
Ever since, he is associated with Jaganmohan Reddy and is reportedly taking care of all political and business activities of the Kadapa MP. Sunil Reddy floated companies on behalf of Jagan which are under investigation. He and his father, Nareddy Sangireddy , are directors in the Jagan group companies.
Sunil Reddy, who hails from Animela village in Veerapunayunipalle revenue mandal in Kadapa district, is from a family that happened to be the strong loyalists of Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. His parents had been residing in the neighbourhood of the former Chief Minister at Pulivendula town. His father Sangu Reddy had also been in the mining activity.
His wife Teja Reddy is the niece of the Kamalapuram MLA Veerasiva Reddy. She is also a close relation of Vijaysai Reddy. In addition she is also a YSR party activist, and was an election agent for the party in Kogatttam village polling booth in May 2011 by-election to Kadapa parliamentary constituency.
Sunil Reddy is also involved in Jaganmohan Reddy’s day-to-day political activity. It is learnt that Sunil Reddy was the one who came up with the idea of ‘’Odarpu Yatra’’ undertaken by Jagan Mohan Reddy.
‘’He coordinates with YSR Congress party leaders and fixes appointments with Jaganmohan Reddy,’’ source said.
Referred to as the ‘transporter’, the CBI’s sudden move to pick up Sunil Reddy is aimed at nailing some of the ‘big fish’ in the case, sources said describing Sunil as a ‘mine of information’ about Jagan’s deals.
The CBI is understood to have grilled him on several aspects surrounding the Emaar scam.
“He will also be questioned over the alleged illegal assets of Jagan when the CBI gets his custody,’’ sources said.
“He used to take orders from Vijay Sai Reddy and was also a close aide of the late YSR,’’ sources said.
Meanwhile, Sunil Reddy’s family members said Sunil never figured in any of the ongoing investigations pertaining to Jaganmohan Reddy as an accused. Meanwhile, YSR Congress official spokesperson Vasireddy Padma has said that they were unable to understand in connection with which case the CBI authorities were enquiring Sunil Reddy!!!
