The CBI investigating the EMAAR scam has taken up a active stand after the demise of the former Chief Minister late Y S Rajasekara Reddy and more virulent after the his son Jagan Mohan Reddy, uprising which started to dominate the state politics. Whether it is vindictive or not as critics feel, the fact is that the government agency APIIC has surely lost crores of rupees in the deal, by sheer manipulation.
Well getting back to critics, a leading news paper has criticized the active involvement of the then APIIC Chief Ambati Rambabu, presently spokesperson to Y S R Congress party welded by Jagan. But the only evidence stated was that the letters from Rambabu to issue certain villas for his relatives at a lesser cost were in possession of the CBI. Just because of this evidence how fair is it to blame him as a key conspirator? Because, right from TTD darshan to high profile activities, people in power send letters to the concerned and are often obliged too. So that is not vital evidence against him.
Similarly after the CBI appearance, Ambati told media that he had no role in the issue and it was signed during the earlier Chandra Babu Naidu regime. This statement equally is illogic in the present context. But most predominantly the act of the investigating agency must bring back the lost funds and in no way must be vindictive. (AarKay)
