Manohar accepts quit letters of 4 MLAs

Speaker Nadendla Manohar accepted the resignations of four MLAs, two from the Congress and two from the TDP.

The resignations of Gampa Govardhan of Kamareddy and Jogu Ramanna of Adilabad from the TDP and Rajaiah of Station Ghanapur and Jupally Krishna Rao of Kollapur from the Congress have been accepted by the Speaker.

The four MLAs have quit their parties and joined the TRS for the sake of Telangana. The speaker had informed them of his decision Monday evening. Manohar didn’t accept the resignation of Somarapu Satyanarayana even though he joined the TRS as he is an independent member.

The Speaker had earlier accepted the resignations of Nallapureddy Prasanna Kumar reddy and Nagam Janardhan reddy who have quit the TDP.

Manohar has rejected the resignations of 61 MLAs from both the TDP and TRS as they had resigned en masse on emotional grounds for the sake of Telangana.

Jagan group MLAs resignations’ kept pending

Manohar has kept his decision pending on the resignations of Congress MLAs Adinarayana reddy, Amarnath reddy, Srikanth Reddy and Konda Surekha and those of Balanagi reddy of TDP and Shoba Nagi Reddy of PRP who announced loyalty to YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan reddy as the arguments on their resignations have not yet competed.

With the acceptance of the resignations, there are now seven vacancies in the Assembly, six from the Telangana region and one from the Andhra region. (JUBS)
