Andhra Pradesh Principal Secretary, Energy Department Dinesh Kumar requested the Union ministry of power for 3.2 MMSCMD of natural gas for power generation.
Kumar made his request while Addressing the conference of Southern States on implementation of priority power projects at Hyderabad.
As the power demand was growing in the state, the required gas shall be utilized by the gas-based power generation projects to generate power to their 100% capacity.
He also further requested the union ministry to take up the matter with the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGOM) and the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, to hasten up the procedures to overcome the immediate shortage.
He further informed that the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was very keen to bridge the gap between demand and supply, especially in the power sector as it was crucial for the state economic development.
