Andhra Pradesh tops in the production of Cannabis:- Andhra Pradesh is criticized badly in the recent times after large amounts of cannabis is traced and seized. The roots are found in Andhra Pradesh which left the government worried. As per the report, Andhra Pradesh tops the list in the major producers of cannabis in the country. A news of relief is that the state has the lowest cannabis users in the country. The current usage of cannabis is 2.8 percent and when it comes to Andhra Pradesh, the percent is 1.04 percent. The survey was conducted by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on Magnitude of Substance Use. The survey was conducted in all the states and union territories.

Punjab has the highest number of cannabis users in the country with 12.55 percent and it is followed by Sikkim with 10.94 percent and Delhi with 8.12 percent. When it comes to South Indian states, the proportions are Kerala (1.28), Telangana (0.62), Karnataka (0.54) and Tamil Nadu (0.16). The survey also said men are the most consumers of cannabis than women. The survey was also conducted for alcohol and 95 percent of them are males. Chhattisgarh is on the top of the list with 35.6 percent and Tripura stands second with 34.7 percent and is followed by Punjab with 28.5 percent. When it comes to Andhra Pradesh, the consumption of alcohol is 13 percent.
