Police today lati charged villagers for trying to prevent the opinion gathering by officials at the Hetero Drugs Company at Butchaiah pet village in Nakkapalli Mandalam of the Visakhapatnam district.

Villagers of Upamaka village in the same Mandalam also obstructed the moment of the joint collector who was on his way to Butchaiah village for the opinion gathering programme on Hetero.

The villagers, supported by some NGOs and people’s organizations, are agitating against the establishment of the Hetero Drugs Company arguing that the operations of the pharmaceutical company will lead to pollution in the area.
