Emaar case accused flees country

Emaar case accused flees countryThe CBI officials investigating the APIIC-Emaar land deal scam have sealed the house of Mr. T. Ranga Rao, director of the Stylish Homes and one of the accused in the case.

Reports said that CBI notices sent to him were returned unanswered and when the officials visited his Banjara Hills house on Thursday, it was found locked. The CBI suspects he has fled to the US. The authorities have pasted a notice on the main door of the house asking Ranga Rao to appear before the agency whenever he returns.

Sources revealed that Ranga Rao cooperated well with the CBI in the preliminary investigation but he fled the country when the High Court ordered a full probe in the case. By the time the CBI received search warrants from the CBI court in Nampally, he disappeared from the scene.

When the house is sealed, the occupant cannot enter it and he must see the CBI first before he makes an entry into it.

The agency will now wait for some more days for his arrival and if he doesn’t turn up in reasonable time, the officials will break open the house with the court permission and in the presence of the senior revenue authorities and the concerned police officials.
