A new Starbucks has opened in town and it has been the talk of the city even before it opened to the public right from the time it was announced. Immediately after it was announced to be open to the crowds, there were several rich class and upper-middle class members flocking to the only store of the foreign coffee making franchise in upscale Mumbai.
The rich feel of the place made mostly out of wood and a large space to accommodate several people definitely has its charm but the spell cast has been overboard with this one. Several hundreds are queuing up outside the store to have their sip of the foreign coffee which is actually sourced from India's own coffee berries.
The question is people who go as far as standing in ques for coffees but they hesitate and avoid the same when it comes to casting their votes. They have no interest in what their roles and duties are as a citizen of the nation. They seldom discuss and question officials, the righteous way, about the crimes in the state or the lacking cleanliness in the locality. I can confidently say most of them wouldn't even stop by, forget donating blood, to an accident victim on the roads.
They have the leisure time for a coffee waiting in queues of a coffee store. All they care about is show-off and enjoying their riches, whilst trying to avoid taxes. Coffee store is just a small example which is applicable in several areas like education, jobs etc. When will Indians realize the flavor of its own coffee?
