After a number of engineers and contractors have blamed the labor minister, Badshah Singh, of the Bahujan Samaj Party to have taken bribes worth several crores, the co-operative cell of the Uttar Pradesh Police have decided to start a probe in to the LACCFED scam and question Badhshah Singh in the same issue. They would soon serve the politician with a notice demanding his personal appearance before a court.
He had sanctioned several multi-crore construction contracts via LACCFED after he had accepted large sums as bribes. However, the minister had not kept his promises nor has he agreed to return the money. Two engineers have earlier complained against the leader and had also confessed to have bribed the minister several crores of rupees for the sanctioning of a construction.
"Initially he told these individuals that he had forwarded the cash to senior politicians, but later on admitted before them that he had pocketed the entire sum himself. When the two started asking him for refund, he allegedly began avoiding the duo," a police officer said.
The officer added that the notice would be served soon as the charges were directly leveled against the former minister himself. He also said that action would ensue if he was found guilty.
