Mulayam challenges Modi to contest from UP

As the news of Gujarat Chief Minister and poll campaign panel chief of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Narendra Modi contesting for two Lok Sabha seats for the 2014 general Elections surface, with one of the constituencies being from Uttar Pradesh, ex-CM and Samajwadi Party head honcho Mulayam Singh has defied the 62-year-old political ace to contest from the state.

Eager to bag the maximum number of seats for BJP, Narendra Modi has fixed his eyes on Uttar Pradesh, the only Indian state that accounts for maximum number of seats in the Lok Sabha. Hence, Modi is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that BJP wins the largest number of seats in UP.

Reacting to this, Mulayam Singh Yadav told that while he isn't too pleased about Modi contesting from UP, the Gujarat CM will possibly realise the truth of the state, once he fights for it.

The Samajwadi Party chief is optimistic that his party will win majority seats in Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming 2014 polls.

Ever since Modi has been appointed as the poll panel chief, his political opponents are leaving no chance to sharpen their blade against him. Recently, BSP chief Mayawati scorned at Modi. And now, Singh seems to jump the bandwagon too.
