Robbery plan foiled, seven arrested

The Pune Crime branch had thwarted an attempt of dacoity at a jewelery shop in the Chinchwad region and also arrested 7 accused of an attempted dacoity. They had also confiscated sharp weapons, a vehicle all of which were worth, Rs 8.29 lakh.

Sachin Mane (21), Kiran Dhodmise (21), Anil Ghadge (20), Pravin Shinde (22), Laxman Akale (23), Siddhnath Kadlaskar (23) and Pritam Raichurkar (22) all from Solapur were arrested by the crime branch (unit-III) team leader, inspector Sunil Pawar made the arrests.

Speaking to the media Pawar said that after a constable had received the tip off that a gang has plans to rob the jewelery shop at Chinchwad, they had setup a trap and arrested the accused.

After investigating they also found that the gang was involved in several other burglaries and robberied in different cities of Maharashtra and also Karnataka. They had a criminal history in Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Pune and Belgaum. Five cellphones that belonged to the suspects were also recovered.

The investigating team comprised of police sub-inspector Jalindar Tandale, police constables Ashok Gaikwad, Bharat Udale, Shashikant Shinde, Rajendra More, Rajendra Shinde, Kaluram Renuse, Aslam Attar, Mohandas Patil and Sanjay Wagh.
