Veteran Bollywood character actor Avtar Kishen Hangal is no more. He passes away in a Mumbai hospital. The veteran was ailing from a right thigh fracture after he slipped from the wash room on August 13. He was admitted Parekh Hospital in Santa Cruz in suburban Mumbai on August 16. He was 95. The funeral will be held this afternoon at Mumbai's Pavan Hans crematorium, say sources.
Hangal saab, as he is fondly called by younger generations was adored by them for his simplicity. He had won accolades for his Namak Haram, Sholay, Shaukin and Aaina and his debut on small screen in serial Madhubala was also acknowledged. The veteran had done prominent roles in nearly 200 films in Bollywood.
