Sushil Kumar Shinde said on Monday that evidence for the involvement of Pakistan based groups in the spread of rumors via the social networking media and increase the communal hatred in the nation would be provided by the government. He said that these groups are utilizing the technology to scare the Indians from the sister states in the North East.
"India will give proof to Pakistan very soon on the involvement of Pakistani websites," Shinde said. He also spoke to the Home Minister in Pakistan, Rehman Malik about the involvement of such media and Pakistan based groups which spread fake images to spread the terror and create riots in the nation.
According to the reports from a spokesperson of the Home Ministry, the conversation was the initiative of Malik who called him to greet him 'Eid Mubarak' but Shinde immediately brought up the issue of the communal strife and Pakistan's indulgence in the issue only a day after RK Singh said that Pakistan was the source of the rumors creating a large scale exodus in the nation in parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
Malik reacting to the accusation has said that India is yet to provide any evidence and soon after he receives evidence he would look into the issue.
"The Indian Minister has said that rumours were generated from Pakistan through cellular services, I had requested him (Shinde) to provide evidence in this regard to us and we will take care of it," he said.
Home Ministry has suspected that a group based in Pakistan had doctored a few images and spread them on the social networking sites and had stirred up sensitive issues in the nation creating havoc and exodus.
