A friend had gone so far as to kill his friend after kidnapping him to ask for ransom. The deceased was a 20 year old who was murdered by his friend on the outskirts of Mumbai on Sunday. The police have interrogated the accused and has arrested him after confession of his crime.
Ganesh Sriram, the deceased who was a student of Thakur College in his second year was staying for a rent near the Mira Road. His friend in the neighborhood Kalpesh Soraj, 25, had left his flat 10 days ago. On the 12th Augst, Kalpesh had called Ganesh Sriram to meet a friend at Naigaon but had instead kidnapped him with the help of another friend Ravindra Kumar.
They had also murdered him on the same day after making a few ransom calls to Ramachandra Sriram, the father of Ganesh. They had asked Rs 8 lakhs initially but they had settled for Rs 3 lakhs. They also ordered the father to come to Kandivili railway station on Tuesday. Ganesh's father who worked as a civil contractor at Tarapur Nuclear Plant, had notified the police before he reached the station. The police who followed the father had identified Ravindra and arrested him.
He later revealed the whereabouts of Kalpesh and arrested him for kidnap and murder.
