In rural northern Nigeria, gunmen attacked a camp for a construction company while killing a guard and kidnapping seven foreign workers from Britain, Greece, Italy and Lebanon.
According to Bauchi state police spokesman Hassan Muhammed, the attack on Saturday night occurred in Jama’re, which a town in a rural portion of Bauchi state where in the gunmen first attacked a local prison, burning two police trucks after that the gunmen targeted a worker’s camp for a construction company called Setraco, which is in the area building a road. The gunmen shot dead a guard at the camp before kidnapping the foreign workers.
Moreover, Adamu Aliyu, who is the chairman of the local government area that encompasses Jama’re, identified those kidnapped as one British citizen, one Greek, one Italian and four Lebanese while also the Italian news agency ANSA later said authorities confirmed an Italian had been kidnapped in the attack.
In fact, Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi's saying was quoted, that the safety of the hostage must be given absolute priority while also The Foreign Office of both Britain and Greece informed that they were hunting into the kidnappings.
Perhaps, this kind of incident hampers the world peace and ruins the cultural and traditional elements that every country is enriched with in, while also bringing sorrow and shame for us all.
