A tip of the hat to the Mumbai Mantralaya patriots

Just before the 65th Independence Day, we would like you to know about the daredevil patriots of the Mumbai Mantralaya incident who put their lives on the line to bring back the Tricolor back in shape from the fire accident in the building while other people were scared to death and were bent on surviving the mishap.

Seven men were not the same. These valiant heroes had what it takes and stayed on the terrace to ensure that the flag was brought down and folded according to the procedure and only then got out of the building that was engulfed in flames. They were truly intrepid, as they displayed no hint of fear on their faces. They also didn’t neglect the stipulated procedure to bring down the flag ceremoniously and to add to this bravado they had also patiently folded the flag, instead of haphazardly carrying and disrespecting the flag as a normal person would do under such circumstances.

Ganesh Punj, handler, flag department said that he had no thoughts of leaving the flag there whatsoever. Rajendra Kanade, supervisor, flag department mentions that he had several calls from his family but he could not just ignore the flag and let it burn down in flames.

This hair rising story of the brave men is one side of the coin while the families feel that it was a scary experience though they were very proud. Ganesh’s mother said that she was utterly scared after the news relay but her son was nowhere to be spotted. His wife Akshata was proud of his bravery and also happy that his husband was a celebrity on the TV and newspapers for his bravery.

These valiant yet humble men have been invited to several organizations for the ceremonious August 15th celebrations but they have politely rejected their offers as the day was reserved by the government for flag hoisting function.
