A Mumbai lawyer was killed after her throat was slit and left to die in Wadala, Central Mumbai. However, the death remained mysterious as the reason or the perpetrator were not found. The Mumbai Police have however solved the case within less than a day of receiving the news. They have unraveled the mystery of the murder.

Pallavi Purkayastha, the 25 year old lawyer, was killed by the security guard of the apartment she was living. Sajjid Pathan the guard has told the police that he killed here merely because she yelled at him few days ago. Pathan was later arrested after the confession.

According to his story he said that he had sneaked onto her when she was alone in the night and then killed her. Her live-in partner, who was initially a suspect in the case, had found her dead in their apartment on the 16th floor of the building in Wadala on Thursday. The live-in partner was also from the legal fraternity.

Pallavi is the daughter of an IAS officer in Delhi.
